Beautiful Home – Mukesh Jain’s Rajasthani Theme abode in Chandigarh
Among the array of modern contemporary houses, when one sees a traditional Rajasthani structure standing tall in city of Chandigarh, it surely catches eye. A dream of Mukesh Jain, who hails from Rajasthan wanted to create an abode that keeps him connected to his roots.
Architect Kamlesh Mehta, sourced all the labour from different cities of Rajasthan. The frontal facade and entrance have been given a look of typical haveli. Intricate carvings on wall, windows and balcony with look of Jharokha’s takes one back to royalties of Rajasthan.
What I particularly liked is the simplicity of wall decor with complimenting flooring design which shows an eye for detailing. The entrance to guest room highlights a classic Phad painting especially got done by artist of Bhilwara.
The other side is simplistically ornated with Rajasthani Instrumental cushions and minimal earthy pots. The beauty of the house is the way ventilation has been planned. A lot of windows are beautifully placed so that they enhance the beauty and ensure bright sunshine in every corner.
While the ground floor is inspired by theme of Rajasthan, the bedrooms are designed in contemporary style. Large open space is common in every room. The classic bedroom has the wall art as the decor piece. The usage of window seating has been beautifully done making it an ideal place for tea time.
Every room is enhanced through lighting, making the chandelier the centrepiece and rest is just minimalist.
There is something very serene about this home; every room is filled with warmth, not only of sunshine but also of the owners.
For weekend fun, a great cinema experience is what we all love, and if it is personalised one then nothing like it. A perfect home theatre room, with most comfortable reclining sofa, to ensure a perfect movie time experience.
While home theatre is favourite place for kids in the home, for the lady of the house kitchen is her kingdom. Anu Jain loves open spaces and sunlight, so she ensured her kitchen has both in ample.
This brings us to the end of the beautiful home tour. A warm thanks to Anu and Mukesh Jain for letting us capture their dream home.
